IDE is excited to announce the migration to a new Project Management platform in January 2022. After a rigorous selection and development process, all project management activities will be migrated to the Planview Clarizen One platform.

To complete this transformative project, we have taken the following steps:

  • a ground-up re-evaluation of our Project Management methodologies

  • an extensive software search and high-level review of over 16 software platforms

  • an intensive evaluation of four shortlisted candidates

  • a comprehensive development process to customise features to support IDE’s unique processes

Why have we invested in our Project Management tools?

As entrepreneurial partners to our clients, we need to be as flexible and as adaptable to change as they are. Product development is not a linear process and requires constant dialogue, realignment, and replanning. Our continuous improvement and client feedback process identified that streamlining and automating our project management process would create significant value for our clients and help grow our business.

In addition to implementing the Clarizen One platform, IDE has also invested heavily in developing and codifying our approach to Agile Project Management. This is intended to give our clients flexible options that can facilitate the development of products and business at speed, ensuring that we strive for the greatest value whilst minimising risk.

IDE continues to refine its commercialisation process and staff training to incorporate the latest best practice innovation methods without compromising the requirements of medical device development. Our team is committed to accelerating the delivery of novel, valuable ideas in our pursuit of Building Better Futures for Health.

How does this investment benefit our clients?

The Clarizen One platform integrates many of the tools and databases already used by IDE to enhance our planning and project control. This powerful tool also allows us to fully embed the Agile frameworks we’ve been developing across all team activities to ensure we are flexible to change and pursue maximum value for our clients.

The benefits identified during our platform trial include four primary areas of improvement. It increases our flexibility to react to newly identified risks and opportunities by enabling project managers to quickly and accurately model proposed changes to scope or resourcing. Secondly, it improves transparency to facilitate collaboration across multi-organisation cross-functional teams by integrating budget, resource and schedule databases to give a holistic view of the project. Thirdly, it will benefit our communication to maintain alignment of stakeholders via real-time, continuous updates to budget, schedule, and issues management through the cloud. And fourthly, an advancement in Project Management to reduce direct administrative costs and provide more cognitive space for the project team to dedicate even more time to creating value and eliminating risks.

What does this mean for our Clients?

From the 1st January 2022, all planning will be done in the Clarizen environment.

The new Project Status Update format will take effect for our January PSU (15th February 2022).
