Production Operator

Job description

We currently have a vacancy for a motivated, experienced and enthusiastic Production Operator to join our Leichhardt Production team. The primary objective of this role is to process and administer production orders, and ensuring that quality assurance checks are completed and maintained. This position requires you to liaise with internal stakeholders including operations, overseas and domestic suppliers and logistics partners to ensure delivery of product to our customers in full and on time, every time.

The person we are looking for will need to have a solid background in coordination and execution, by ensuring that manufacturing tasks are executed with a high degree of technical excellence.

Critical to this role will be experience in manufacturing processes within highly regulated, safety critical industries and experience in complying with various standards and strict regulations will be regarded highly. The role will be hands on yet you will need to understand how your work affects the bigger picture.


Areas of responsibility will include:

  • Performing production related duties as directed by the Production Team.

  • Operating and producing a high value and quality medical devices.

  • Stock takes and record keeping.

  • Inspection of incoming goods

Desired Skills and Experience  
Ideally you will possess the following qualifications, skills and attributes:

  • Has manufacturing/ assembly experience

  • Has basic to good knowledge of hand tool use. 

  • Effectively communicates with co-workers and cross functional teams such as Quality and Engineering.

  • Has the necessary literacy and numeracy skills.

  • Is aware of the relevant standard operating procedures (SOP) and is complying with their requirements.

  • Is aware of the Quality Systems, GMP and ISO standards

  • Can produce documentation accurately

  • Is able to manage deadlines and prioritise tasks

  • Has computer literacy, is able to use Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)

  • Works well in teams

  • Experience with continuous improvement (eg. 5S, Kaizen, and lean manufacturing environment would be ideal) 

  • Preferable, previous medical device or pharmaceutical manufacturing experience
