IDE Connect

"Digital platforms are such an integral part of our lives and if we embrace them, the capabilities for innovation are endless"

How do we keep things fresh at The Connectory? Every once in a while, we step out and explore.

Last week, ide Group Product Developers Peter Sprada, Penny Flicker, Marcela Lopez and Vishesh Malhotra went exploring at Link Festival, an event run by Engineers Without Borders that is about shifting social paradigms, spurring innovation and pushing big ideas into action.

ide Group Senior Product Developer, Vishesh Malhotra said “Engaging with presenters and attendees having a true passion for design, technology and social change, highlighted the power of chasing something you believe in.” For Malhotra, it also further emphasised the importance of observing and asking questions to discover ideas that can make a difference.

“Be disruptive in the market! Challenge and question existing ideas and designs… this is what creates change!” he said.

ide Group Product Developer, Marcela Lopez described how the event inspired her to think about how we use technology to support our everyday lives.

“Sometimes we can forget that technology can change people’s lives, for example allowing people living with disabilities to mobilise with their minds” she said. “We as creative people need to look at technology in a social context and apply ethics to help make a real difference”.

For ide Group Product Developer, Penny Flicker the event inspired her to expand her knowledge of new possibilities in technology.

“Digital platforms are such an integral part of our lives and if we embrace them, the capabilities for innovation are endless" she said.
