Amy Bain

Amy has been working in the field of design for over 20 years after obtaining her bachelor’s degree in Multimedia Systems, with a speciality in Applications. She began her career working in the education space, developing content and learning environments, with a key interest in behaviourism. From there, she moved into the Engineering and Pharmacy industry before ending up in the Med Tech space.

As Senior Multimedia Designer at Ellume, her main responsibility was the design and development of medical diagnostic apps to be used by healthcare professionals and layer users alike. She was involved in the approval of Class III Medical Devices with the FDA and TGA, by using her understanding in human factors and the usability engineering processes to maximize the likelihood that new medical devices will be safe and effective for the intended users, uses and use environments. It has been her role to transform something extremely complicated into something elegant, sophisticated and easy to use for everyone, regardless of age, language and technical prowess.

Her skill set includes user interface and user experience design, preparing and conducting Human Factors studies, web content and asset development, native app design for Android and iOS, animation, video/motion graphics production, audio editing, 3D imagery, graphic design, print media, and company branding design and development.
