Tom Croston

Throughout his youth, Tom spent many hours glued to the Discovery Channel. Inspired by 'Junkyard Wars', 'How it's Made' and 'Extreme Machines', he decided mechanical engineering would be an interesting job. After leaving university Tom worked for a small company building custom packaging machinery for the food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries, where he got hands on experience designing machines from scratch. Beetween this and IDE he worked on a number of projects in a wide variety of fields including a communications antenna for ships, an exercise bike and two small Satellites that went to orbit for 18 months. Aside from the Discovery Channel, Tom was also glued to National Geographic, which fueled his appreciation for the outdoors, where he spends a lot of his free time
