Detail Design
Detail design involves the definition and optimisation of all geometric and technical details for individual components within the design. The detail design process focuses on component function, manufacturing detail and dimensional accuracy to achieve quality components that are efficient and cost effective.
3D CAD data
As
part of the detail design phase all 3D CAD component geometry is optimised to suit manufacture as well as functionality and performance requirements. Consideration is also given to requirements such as assembly, serviceability and reliability. ide+ utilise techniques such as DFMA and tolerance analysis to ensure that each component and assembly is optimised for manufacture and production. Typicaly 3D CAD data is directly transfered and utilised by CNC manufacturing to produce tooling and components.
2D production documentation
Forming part of the specification package accurate 2D CAD drawings communicate information which cannot be conveyed by 3D means. This information includes dimensions, tolerances, materials, component finish, general notes and revision control. All drawings produced by id+e conform to Australian Standard AS1100.
